Dog ear care based on individual needs

If your dog’s ears are clean and dry, there is no need to clean them too often. Regular checks are more important, helping you understand when your dog actually needs extra care.

Check the ears: look for earwax, dirt, moisture or visible changes around the outer part of the ear.
Clean gently: use products designed specifically for dogs and avoid inserting cotton buds deep into the ear canal.
Watch your dog’s behaviour: if your dog frequently scratches their ears, shakes their head or seems uncomfortable when the ears are touched, it is better to look for the cause rather than simply cleaning more often.

Good ear care is about knowing what is normal for your dog, cleaning only when needed and avoiding unnecessary over-cleaning.
